Community foundation awards over $11,000 in spring grants WASHINGTON, Kan.— During its spring grant cycle, the Washington County Community Foundation awarded over $11,000 to 9 projects throughout Washington County. The following organizations received funding: Brantford Community Center, $1,400 to replace four school windows and casings. Clifton Public Library, $300 to support the public library summer reading program. Haddam Community Club, Inc., $1,747 to help replace 50 restaurant chairs. Linn Community Nursing Home, Inc., $988 for the purchase of four additional slings to accompany the EZ Way Smart Lifts. Community foundation scholarships available

WASHINGTON, Kan.—The Washington County Community Foundation is now accepting scholarship applications for the 2021-2022 school year. The following scholarship is available: Columbus, Vera & Morris Jones Memorial Scholarship, for seniors graduating from Washington County High School with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Preference will go to students who plan to attend Kansas State University. Washington County students may also apply for the following scholarship through the Community Foundation for Cloud County: CF Sunshine Scholarship, for graduating high school seniors or graduates from Cloud County or Washington County who are pursuing the medical or education field, or plan to attend a recognized trade school.
