Washington County Community Foundation Match Madness raises over $26,000

WASHINGTON, Kan.— The Washington County Community Foundation hosted a Match Madness giving day on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.

The foundation is excited to announce that donors contributed a total of $26,296.32 during their Match Madness giving day in May. Including the matching funds, the event raised a record-breaking total of $37,296.32.

Match Madness is designed to generate new gifts to endowed funds held at the community foundation. Endowed funds are permanently invested to produce a steady stream of income to provide ongoing support for charitable needs in the county.

The Washington County Community Foundation board wishes to thank everyone that donated to support the various funds. They would also like to extend a special thank you to this year’s match donors: Blue Valley Insurance Agencies, Central Valley Ag, Citizens State Bank, Herrs Machine Hydrostatics, and Union State Bank.

Additionally, the Washington County Community Foundation received the exciting news that WCCF qualified for a matching grant from the Patterson Family Foundation. The purpose of this matching grant is to empower local leadership to address community needs. With the outstanding support from the Washington County donors during our Match Madness giving day in May, the Patterson Family Foundation will grant a dollar-for-dollar match of the $26,296.32 that was donated by our community.

With the generous donations from our community, matching funds from our amazing local match donors: Blue Valley Insurance Agencies, Central Valley Ag, Citizens State Bank, Herrs Machine Hydrostatics, and Union State Bank, and the Patterson Family Foundation matching grant initiative, the total impact of the Washington County Community Foundation’s May Match Day is $63,592.64.

“Washington County Community Foundation had the best match event to date thanks to the generosity of donors near and far. It is exciting to see the support for WCCF and know that these donations will benefit local organizations now and in the future!” exclaimed Natalie Wood, Affiliate Relations and Grants Coordinator.

The Washington County Community Foundation also has the opportunity to raise additional funds at a future match event in 2023. More information about this upcoming event will be provided at a later date.
