Over $21,000 Awarded in Spring Grants

During its Spring Grant Cycle, the Washington County Community Foundation awarded over $21,000 to 14 projects throughout Washington County. The following organizations received funding:

  • Washington County Rural Fire District 2, $1,950 to support Barnes Fire Equipment Upgrades.
  • Morrowville Community Center dba Cougar’s Den, $1,075 to help purchase a commercial stand mixer.
  • Zion Lutheran Church, $699 to help purchase a handicap door opener kit.
  • City of Hanover, $3,795 to support renovations at the Vet’s Park Tennis Court.
  • Clifton Public Library, $750 to support their Color Our World reading program.
  • Morrowville Christian Church, $2,500 to support new flooring and installation.
  • Morrowville Fire Department, $2,450 to support the purchase of self-contained breathing apparatus.
  • KSDS, Inc., $2,347 to support the installation of a Stanley Magic Force Operator.
  • Barnes Lions Club, $1,262 to support two direct sewer connections at the Barnes RV Park.
  • City of Clifton, $1,231.83 to support the installation of a sand volleyball court in Clifton Park.
  • Haddam Community Club, Inc., $1,000 to purchase sound panels for Haddam City Hall.
  • Westview Apartments, $740.11, to support the beautification of grounds.
  • Hanover Hospital, $1,200 to purchase outdoor furniture for outdoor living space.
  • City of Hanover, $400 to support the purchase of a folding machine.

This round of grants was made possible by the following funds; the Washington County Opportunity Fund which supports the quality of life for Washington County, the Hanover Community Fund which supports the present and future needs of Hanover, KS, and the Clifton Community Fund which supports the present and future needs of Clifton, KS.
