Washington County Community Foundation Year End Match

WASHINGTON, Kan.— The Washington County Community Foundation held a Year End Match Campaign that began on Giving Tuesday, November 28th. Donations given to most endowed funds through December 31st were generously matched by the Patterson Family Foundation. The main fund to support was the Washington County Opportunity Fund, which is an unrestricted community grant fund used for charitable projects that address present and future needs in Washington County. Several community and organization funds will also receive matching dollars through the Patterson Family Foundation.

The total Year End donations equaled $32,590. When added to the May 2023 Match Day event, the total donations received in 2023 = $58,886.32. In May, local organizations provided a generous $11,000 match. Now, $57,536 will be matched by the Patterson Family Foundation, which means a total community impact of $127,422.32 in 2023!

"We want to thank everyone who donated or matched donations. All of this will be used in county grants awarded for community and health projects. Thanks so much." Bill Slater, WCCF Board Chairperson.

*The Patterson Family Foundation is a family-led, non-profit foundation continuing the legacy of Neal and Jeanne Patterson whose mission is advancing health care, education, and strengthening communities especially in rural areas in Kansas and western Missouri. They understand that local community foundations play a special role in serving their communities and hope to inspire more local donors to participate in rural philanthropy through rural serving community foundations, and for more donations to flow to local nonprofits as a result. "Where you come from says a lot about you. But what you do says even more." -Patterson Family Foundation
