Community foundation accepting spring grant applications

WASHINGTON, Kan.— The Washington County Community Foundation is accepting applications for spring grants. Online applications open February 1 and are due Friday, April 1, 2022.

Last spring, the community foundation granted the Lucky-4 4-H Club funding to jump start the Clifton Food Bank. The Clifton Food Bank is located behind the Clifton Presbyterian Church as a good location for the public to make donations and store them from there.

The community foundation grant allowed the club to purchase needed non-perishable food and hygiene products to get the food bank initially started for the public to utilize.

This year, over $15,000 in grant funding is available for charitable community improvement projects within the Washington County area. Grants will be awarded from the following funds:

  • Washington County Opportunity Fund – available for projects that improve the quality of life for Washington County.
  • Hanover Community Fund – available for projects that address the present and future needs of Hanover, KS.
  • Clifton Community Fund – available for projects that address the present and future needs of Clifton, KS.

Grants are limited to communities in Washington County and will be awarded through a competitive application process. Nonprofit organizations, government and public entities, educational institutions and churches are encouraged to apply. Applications must be submitted online by 11:59 p.m. on April 1. Detailed grant criteria and application instructions are available online at www.washingtoncountycf.org/search-apply-for-a-grant.
