May Match Month for Washington County Opportunity Fund
WASHINGTON, Kan.— The Washington County Community Foundation is excited to announce May is Match Month for the Washington County Opportunity Fund. This match is made possible by these generous sponsors: Central Valley Ag, Citizens State Bank, Union State Bank of Clay Center, First National Bank-Washington, Herrs Machine Hydrostatics, and Blue Valley Insurance Agencies, Inc.
Donations can be made in one of three ways:
- Give online at https://washingtoncountycf.org/ and click “Give Online”.
- Mail gifts to the foundation at PO Box 24, Washington, KS 66968, postmarked on or before May 31.
- Deliver cash or check donations to a Community Foundation board member on or before May 31: Dylan Goeckel, Bill Slater, Shellie Baxter, Tina Uhlik, Kay Bott, Shirley Frager, Mike Peters, Miranda Provost, Kathy Richter, Jen Shriver, or Debra Tillinghast.
The Washington County Opportunity Fund is an unrestricted community grant fund that supports projects and programs focused on improving quality of life throughout Washington County. Previous grants from this fund have gone toward safety equipment for the Morrowville Fire Department, clubhouse improvements for the City of Greenleaf, book returns for the Hanover Public Library, a sidewalk for the Barnes Lions Club, replacing chairs at the Haddam Café, the dining room floor replacement in the Mahaska Community Center Dining Room, dugout roofs in Palmer, EMS/fire education equipment for Washington, new street signs in Clifton, and safe lifting slings for the Linn Community Nursing Home to name a few. All Match gifts are tax-deductible.
