Washington County Community Foundation Awards Over $4,500 in Fall Grants

WASHINGTON, Kan.— During its fall grant cycle, the Washington County Community Foundation awarded over $4,500 to three projects throughout Washington County. The following organizations received funding:

  • Linn Community Nursing Home Inc $2,837 to help create a sensory/memory garden planting area.
  • City of Linn $1,500 toward the purchase of a play structure and swing set for the Linn City Park.
  • K-State Research & Extension River Valley District $599 toward the purchase of ankle weights for the Washington County Exercise Classes

This round of grants was made possible by the community foundation’s Kansas Health Foundation Fund, which supports the protection and promotion of the health and well-being of individuals and their communities through encouragement of healthy lifestyles, behaviors and environments; Washington County Opportunity Fund, which supports the quality of life for Washington County.
